Hi there,
I’m Bob, the Outbound SDR Manager for the North American team at MoEngage. I’m excited to share my story with you, a journey of transformation and growth that has redefined my perspective on work and life. Join me as I contrast my life before MoEngage with my experiences here.
My journey to MoEngage began in the world of healthcare staffing, where I worked as a Recruiter. It was a high-pressure environment driven by numbers and constant surveillance. Every aspect of our work was meticulously tracked, from the number of calls made to the length of conversations and even our office hours. The fear of losing my job loomed constantly, leading me to work 12-hour days just to survive.
After surviving rounds of layoffs during a global pandemic, I found myself at a crossroads. It was time for a change, and I decided to explore the world of sales, even though I had no prior experience in the SaaS industry or customer engagement platforms. That’s when MoEngage entered my life.
MoEngage immediately stood out as a company that cared deeply about its employees. The interview process left a positive impression, and when I compared my options, the company’s competitive package, including a better base, commission structure, and benefits, sealed the deal.
My journey at MoEngage began with a blank slate. I had no industry experience, and I was working remotely. Despite my initial nervousness, I was met with a supportive manager who guided me through training.
What set MoEngage apart was the opportunity to meet with each Head of Department and have meaningful conversations with company leaders. Even though I was at the bottom of the totem pole, they asked for my input, listened intently to what I had to say, and valued my opinion. It was a refreshing change of pace from what I had been used to.
One of the early signs that MoEngage was a different kind of company was the introduction of “mental health days” every quarter. This simple gesture spoke volumes about the company’s commitment to employee well-being. The flexibility to work remotely and the understanding shown during unexpected life events further reinforced my belief that MoEngage valued work-life balance.
As the months passed, I realized that MoEngage offered more than just a job; it offered a career path filled with growth opportunities. Leveraging the support and resources available within the company, I thrived and made significant progress in my role. The recognition I received, leading to promotions from SDR to SDR Manager, was incredibly rewarding.
In my time at MoEngage, I’ve gained industry experience, grown personally and professionally, and redefined my understanding of work-life balance. It feels like I’ve been here a lifetime, and I can’t help but reflect on how much has changed since joining this company.
