Push Amplification™ Plus is designed to improve the delivery rate of push notifications by up to 40%, helping messages reach more users. However, this service has certain limitations.

SDK Compatibility

Push Amplification™ Plus is only available for the following SDKs from the specified versions onward:

Limitations for the Direct Delivery Service

The following limitations apply to the direct delivery service and not to the fallback delivery service:
  1. No fallback mechanism: The primary delivery service has a high delivery rate (75% to 95%), so the fallback mechanism of Push Amplification™ is not supported.
  2. No custom display: The Push Amplification™ Plus enhanced delivery service doesn’t support custom displays, where the client app handles notification display by parsing key-value pairs or by directly consuming the MoEngage payload.
  3. Character limits: The maximum length for a title is 40 characters (including spaces), and the maximum length for a message is 1,024 characters (including spaces).
  4. No notification image support: Huawei doesn’t support notification images. However, small and large app icons are supported.
  5. No data payloads: Sending data payloads is not supported.
  6. No customized notification channels: The out-of-the-box channels provided by Huawei are not supported. You can use a custom channel or the MoEngage default channel. Unlike with FCM, the default channel will not work as a fallback for HMS if the setup is incorrect.
  7. No customizing notification message icons: Customizing notification message icons is not supported.
  8. Other limitations:
    • The “Notification Cleared” event will not be tracked.
    • The Notification Center will only display clicked notifications.
    • Notification clear callback will not work.
    • Notification received callbacks will not work.
    • Push templates will not work; only basic push notifications are supported.
    • Customizing push display properties will not work.
    • Controlling the display through key-value pairs will not work.
